Phrania M. Jacobson
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 1, 2008, at the Upper Elwha Community Club, 90 Old State Road, Port Angeles, for Port Angeles resident Phrania M. Jacobson, who died July 25, 2008, at the age of 81.
A potluck follows.
She was born May 23, 1927, in Port Angeles to Guy Edgar and Helen Isbell MacNamara.
She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Port Angeles in 1945.
She married Normand Jacobson on July 1, 1946, in La Grande, Ore. He preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1998.
Mrs. Jacobson worked as a teacher’s aid at Franklin School in Port Angeles.
Most of her life was spent on Herrick Road, where her grandparents homesteaded.
She was a family historian and avid reader. She loved crafts, her grandchildren and bird watching.
She also held various offices with the Home Economics Club and Upper Elwha Community Club.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Kenneth and Marilyn Jacobson of Port Angeles; daughters and son-in-law Janice Shultz, Cherie Estes, and Chris and Don Borg, all of Port Angeles; sister Barbra Bretches of Port Angeles; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Rusty Jacobson.

Dick Stirton
A celebration of life will be held 4-7 p.m. Aug. 1 at 72 Bonneville Lane, Sequim, for Sequim resident Dick Stirton.
Friends and family are invited to attend.
Jay W. Berger
No services were reported for Sequim resident Jay W. Berger, who died July 21, 2008 at the age of 89.
He was born Jan. 2, 1919, in Philadelphia, Pa., to William Edward and Anna Mary Simpers Berger.
He was a veteran of six years of Army duty, being discharged as a master sergeant.
He married Lily Jean Laurenson in Sequim on May 25, 1947. She preceded him in death in 1980.
Mr. Berger retired after 30 years as a custodian with the Sequim School District.
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law Norm and Diane Berger of Sequim; daughter Diane Pierce of Mount Vernon; two brothers; one sister; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County.

Helen June Maxwell
A memorial service was held for Port Angeles resident Helen June Maxwell, who died July 20, 2008, at the age of 94.
She was born June 24, 1914, in Cottage Grove, Ore., to Joseph and Betty McInturff Cossalman.
She married Charles Edward Maxwell Sr. on Feb. 19, 1937, in Seattle. He preceded her in death on June 16, 2002. She was a housewife and a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Mrs. Maxwell is survived by her daughter-in-law Anne B. Maxwell of Beaver; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Charles E. Maxwell Jr.; sister Mary Jean Lytle and brother-in-law Barney Lytle; and three grandchildren.

William Herbert Patterson
Per his request, no services were reported for Port Angeles resident William Herbert Patterson, who died July 24, 2008, at the age of 85.
He was born June 2, 1923, in Omak to William Herbert and Lura Rogers Patterson.
