Tedy William Cook
A celebration of life has been held for Sequim resident Tedy William Cook, who died June 28, 2008, at the age of 33 in an accident.
He was born Jan. 9, 1975, in Port Angeles, to Ricky Cook and Kristy Schott. He spent his childhood years in Raymond but lived in Sequim most of his life.
He was a longtime employee of Primo Construction as a concrete finisher and planned to join the Operators Union in April 2009.
He belonged to Sequim Community Church.
Mr. Cook enjoyed fishing, hunting, biking, surfing, waterskiiing and spending time with close friends and family. He found solace at the Dungeness River and loved spending time being a great dad.
He is survived by his son Cole Cook and daughter Sabrina Cook, both of Sequim; father Ricky Cook of Raymond; mother Kristy Schott Cook of Raymond; brother Tim Cook of Port Angeles; grandparents Mary Schott of Sequim and Bill Cook of Raymond; his children’s mother Kim Butler of Sequim; aunts, uncles, cousins and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Ted Schott.

John K. ‘Jack’ Lord
Longtime Sequim resident John K. “Jack” Lord died June 24, 2008, at the age of 85.
He was born Nov. 4, 1922, in Jeanette, Pa.
He attended public schools in Jeanette and enrolled at Penn State University in 1939. He left college to serve in the armed forces during World War II and returned to Penn State and earned his undergraduate degree in 1946.
He married Jayne Rugh, also of Jeanette, in 1942.
In 1946, the Lords moved to New York City where Mr. Lord pursued a career as a professional musician. He moved from music to the advertising industry, working at The Wall Street Journal and the Direct Mail Advertising Association.
In 1954, he and his family relocated to Marion, Ohio, when he accepted a position at the Howard Swink advertising agency.
Ten years later he co-founded a new firm, Lord Sullivan & Yoder, that grew to be one of the leading advertising agencies in the Midwest.
He retired in 1985 and relocated to Sequim to be near his children, who had moved to the Seattle area.
He and his wife enjoyed an active retirement with golf, travel and community activities. They spent winters at their second home in Florida.
He was a member of the SunLand Golf and Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, Jayne; his son David Lord of Seattle; daughter Jacqueline Lord Copacino of Seattle; and four grandchildren.

David Granson
A memorial service has been held for Port Angeles resident David Granson, who died July 2, 2008, at the age of 47. Cause of death is pending.
He was born Dec. 15, 1960, in St. Petersburg, Fla., to Roberta Webb Simpson and the late Daniel Granson.
He married Robin Piety in 1991 in Tacoma. They divorced in 1996.
He earned an associate’s degree from Edmonds Community college.
He worked as a personal fitness trainer and car salesman while living in Tacoma and Port Angeles.
He enjoyed fishing, crabbing and fitness/weightlifting.
He is survived by his mother Roberta and stepfather Ted Simpson of Port Angeles; daughters Khia Grinnell of Sequim and Rachel Piety of Tacoma; brother and sister-in-law Ken and Heidi Simpson of Port Angeles; and sisters Jeaneine Granson of Port Angeles and Pam Simpson of Munroe.

Juneal M. Johnson
A service has been held for Sequim resident Juneal M. Johnson, who died June 21, 2008, at the age of 74.
She was born Sept. 4, 1933, in Sutherland, Utah, to Thomas Sevy and Elizabeth Heywood Judd.
She married Robert Earl Johnson on Sept. 18, 1954, in Delta, Utah. She earned an Associate of Arts degree from Branch Agricultural College in Cedar City, Utah. She and her husband moved to California after their marriage, where he was with the Los Angeles County Fire Department for 32 years. Upon retiring, they traveled and then moved to Sequim.
Mrs. Johnson had many different jobs, including working at a bank and a school. She was a homemaker for many years and also worked at a county library where she led the children’s reading groups, which she enjoyed greatly.
She liked gardening, reading, raising vegetables in her garden and bird-watching. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sequim.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Johnson of Sequim; son Richard Johnson of Santa Clarita, Calif.; daughter Elizabeth Johnson of Sacramento, Calif.; brother David Judd of Bountiful, Utah; and sisters Jean Andrus of Lakewood and Janet Wellington of Orem, Utah.

Larry Gene Barr
At his prior request, no service is planned for Sequim resident Larry Gene Barr, who died June 17, 2008, at the age of 90.
He was born Sept. 10, 1917, in West Jefferson, N.C., the first of nine children of Charles Hamilton and Ollie Missouri Poe Barr.
He married Edith Mae West on April 16, 1950, at the Puget Sound Shipyard in Bremerton. He served in the United States Navy for 30 years, retiring to the Sequim-Dungeness area in 1965 with the rank of chief warrant officer 4.
Mr. Barr earned an Associate of Arts degree from Peninsula College in 1968.
He was a passionate golfer, avid hunter and fisherman, and bee and garden enthusiast.
He was a member of Retired Officer’s Association and Fleet Reserve Association, and a charter member of Dungeness Golf and Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Barr of Sequim; daughters and sons-in-law Debbie Barr and Paul Chromey of Tacoma, and Trudie Grace and Frederick Wardy of New York; brothers and sister-in-law Howard Barr of Anchorage, Alaska, Edward and Linda Barr of Spanishburg, W.Va., Roy and Mollie Barr of Thurmond, N.C., and Dottie Barr of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister Blanche Heffernan of Rockville, Md.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brother Ray Barr.

Eleanor Jane Willson
Port Angeles resident Eleanor Jane Willson died June 28, 2008.
She was born Oct. 20, 1923, in Altoona, Pa., to Roy Shaffer and Mildred Eleanor Williams Kerns.
