Olympic Medical Center 5-star hospital

Top ranking measures OMC’s value to the community

Cleverley & Associates recently recognized Olympic Medical Center as a top-ranked “Community Value Provider” for the second year in a row.

Cleverley & Associates, a leading health care financial consulting firm, released the findings as part of its new publication: State of the Hospital Industry, 2008 edition. This publication reports an exclusive measure developed by Cleverley & Associates called the Community Value Index, which measures the value a hospital provides to its community. The CVI assesses a hospital’s performance in three areas: financial strength and reinvestment, cost of care and pricing.

“Our board of commissioners, medical staff and employees work diligently to maintain high quality care, while maintaining relatively low health care charges,” said Eric Lewis, CEO, Olympic Medical Center. “It is exciting to receive recognition from Cleverley & Associates for the second year in a row. We are pleased to be recognized for our financial stewardship.”

The CVI suggests hospitals that are low cost, low charge and use financial resources efficiently for reinvestment back into the provision of health care are operating with a high degree of community value. The CVI score demonstrates a hospital’s performance benchmarked against other facilities that share similar operating conditions.

Olympic Medical Center is a comprehensive health care provider for more than 70,000 residents of Clallam County. It provides inpatient services at its 126-bed acute care facility.
