Olympic Theatre Arts announces cast for season opener ‘Skylight’

Olympic Theatre Arts in Sequim has announced the cast for its season opener, "Skylight."

Olympic Theatre Arts in Sequim has announced the cast for its season opener, “Skylight.”

This Tony award-winning play written by David Hare was the “hot ticket” in New York last year and will hold certain appeal to those theater patrons looking for an intelligent, poignant, topical conversation about love, death, money, education and social responsibility, according to play director Angela Poynter.

Poynter is no stranger to the OTA stage, most recently having performed in the musical “I Do! I Do!” She has cast two other theatrical veterans to fill the leading roles in “Skylight,” Anna Andersen and Ron Graham.

Both actors have worked as professionals in the Los Angeles area and have been active both on stage and off on the Olympic Peninsula for years.

Andersen most recently directed” The Tempest” in Port Angeles and Graham appeared on the OTA stage beside Poynter in “I Do! I Do!”

They will be joined by a third cast member, Brohm Dason, who arrived recently in Sequim and appeared on the OTA stage in “Scapino!” in July.

“Skylight” opens Sept. 9 and runs for three weekends, closing on Sept. 25.

Preview night, free to OTA members, will be Thursday, Sept. 8, and the “Pay What You Will” performance is Thursday, Sept. 14.

OTA would like to advise audiences that if this play were rated, as are the movies, it would be given an “R” for adult theme and language.

Advanced, reserved seat tickets are available online at olympictheatrearts.org or at the theater box office, 683-7326.

The box office, 414 N. Sequim Ave., is open from 1-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
