OMC names new trauma manager

Registered nurse Jae McGinley is Olympic Medical Center’s new trauma manager, the organization announced last week.

McGinley will oversee the development, implementation and enhancement of OMC’s trauma service, particularly the hospital’s Level III Trauma designation.

“This pivotal position acts as a nexus for interdisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring seamless care for injured patients,” OMC representatives said.

McGinley’s responsibilities include driving process improvement, injury prevention, education, data collection, research initiatives and disaster preparedness, they said.

“OMC’s Level III Trauma designation is a vital asset to our rural community,” McGinley said.

“My goal is to sustain and elevate our trauma program’s standards to meet the increasing demands of our community, ensuring unwavering support and top-tier care for trauma patients.”

McGinley is a seasoned professional in emergency services, paramedicine and critical care nursing, OMC representatives said. After graduating from Western Washington University, her career path included roles in fire service with Marietta and South Whatcom Fire Authority, paramedic education in Portland, and extensive experience at medical facilities such as New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.

Most recently, McGinley contributed significantly to the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit at Jefferson Healthcare and OMC.
