Olympic Medical Center announced Vickie Swanson as the Director of Surgical Services.
Swanson has more than 34 years of experience in nursing and has a strong background in the management and operations of surgical services.
“Olympic Medical is fortunate to have such a talented individual bring her clinical and management expertise to our surgery department,” said Lorraine Wall, Chief Nursing Officer and Hospital Chief Operating Officer for Olympic Medical Center.
“I am confident she will do great work to ensure we provide excellent quality, safe surgical care for our patients,” Wall said.
Thousands of inpatient and same-day surgeries are performed in the operating room at Olympic Medical annually.
As director of surgical services, Swanson will oversee the general hospital surgery department, the PACU (surgery recovery unit), Short Stay, endoscopy and help provide expertise to Central Sterile Processing.
“Surgical services is complex in regard to surgical suite management, staffing, scheduling, ensuring the right supplies and technologies are available, and more,” Wall said. “Vickie’s expertise is very valuable as we continuously improve and grow our surgical services capabilities.”
