Washington drivers who experience a collision and need a copy of the police traffic collision report to give their insurance company can now save weeks by requesting the report online. The new Washington Requests for Electronic Collision Reports , or “WRECR,” allows drivers to go online, enter their identifying information, find their collision report, pay the $9.50 fee, and receive the collision report via e-mail, fax, or by mail in one to five days.
The WRECR application can be found on the State Patrol’s Web site at www.wsp.wa.gov/publications/collision.htm.
A video on using the new system is available at www.youtube.com/user/wspgovandmedia, and the Washington State Patrol Collision Records Section can be reached at 360-570-2355.
The Washington State Patrol, in partnership with other state agencies, implemented the system with grant funding from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission.
