Drivers are encouraged to plan for three consecutive nights during which the Hood Canal Bridge will close to all travelers for five continuous hours, state officials said this week.
Closures are set for:
• 11 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21 through 4 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22
• 11 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22 through 4 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23
The five-hour overnight closure allow crews to continue work on a project that replaces and bolsters bridge equipment.
Because of the nature of the work, the bridge will not open for any traffic — including emergency response — state transportation officials said. The work is weather-dependent and could be rescheduled, however.
Travelers can get information about the Hood Canal Bridge via WSDOT email alerts, and the WSDOT app.
