Clallam County Superior Court
Thomas Henry Ellison – Ellison, 22, of Sequim, was sentenced Jan. 14 on counts of conspiracy to commit residential burglary and possession with intent to manufacture and deliver a controlled substance. As part of a drug offender sentencing alternative, Ellison will serve 20 months in jail and 14 months probation and pay $905 in fines and courts costs plus $500 to Clallam County Drug Court and $500 to the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team.
According to court records, on Aug. 25 Ellison discussed with other people burglarizing a Sequim residence. The drug charge stems from being caught with OxyContin when arrested for the burglary on Sept. 12.
Kesa Marie Hobson – Hobson, 26, of Sequim, was charged Jan. 11 with four counts of making or uttering a false prescription. According to court records, Hobson allegedly altered the dates and amounts of Vicodin prescriptions she obtained from three doctors on numerous occasions between October and December 2009. Arraignment is set for Feb. 5, 2010.
Ashley Michele Burton – Burton, 22, of Sequim, was charged Jan. 11 with one count of possession of a controlled substance other than marijuana. According to court records, Burton allegedly was found in possession of 3.8 grams of methamphetamine Jan. 8 while being booked on an arrest warrant. Trial was set for March 29 with her next court date on Feb. 25.
Charley Nicole Ralston – Ralston, 25, Sequim, was sentenced Jan. 13 on five counts of forgery, two counts of third-degree theft, one count of possession of less than 40 grams of marijuana and three counts of second-degree trafficking in stolen property. She will enter drug court on the forgery, theft and possession charges. On the trafficking charges, she will serve 30 days in jail converted to 240 hours community service and pay $1,388 in fines and court costs and $1,000 restitution.
According to court records, Ralston tried to cash a check on Aug. 20 that had been stolen from a Sequim business and also cashed stolen checks between April 17 and Aug. 14. She also broke into a home sometime between Aug. 28 and Sept. 3 and stole an estimated $1,000 worth of coins from a locked box.
Mark Seamands – Seamands, 38, of Sequim, had amended charges of two counts of second-degree assault filed against him on Jan. 15. He previously was charged with second-degree assault/domestic violence.
A Clallam County Sheriff’s deputy report indicated Seamands "recklessly" inflicted bodily harm on his two children, ages 13 and 15, by "branding" them on their skin with a hot branding iron. Though the children have stated to the detective the act did not hurt and was done with their consent, Seamand’s actions have resulted in two charges.
Melinda Marie Thurman – Thurman, 22, of Sequim, had a bench warrant for her arrest issued Jan. 14 after she failed to appear for a court hearing. She faces one count of delivery of a controlled substance, one count of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, one count of maintaining a vehicle or premises for drug trafficking, two counts of fourth-degree assault, one count of third-degree possession of stolen property and one count of use of drug paraphernalia.
Thurman allegedly assaulted her boyfriend on two occasions between Aug. 24 and Sept. 7 and during a search of her apartment, OxyContin, drug paraphernalia and a sign stolen from the Sequim Police Department were located.
Susan Elizabeth Johnson – Johnson, 29, of Sequim, also known as Susan Elizabeth Thomas, was charged Dec. 30 with one count of second-degree child assault. According to court records, Johnson was contacted by a Sequim police officer Nov. 16, 2009, at a Sequim laundromat.
The officer allegedly saw numerous bruises on Johnson’s 3-year-old stepson. A medical exam allegedly discovered numerous bruises, including to the boy’s scrotum, a burn mark on his abdomen and a cut finger.
The boy and two girls were turned over to Child Protective Services. Trial was set for Feb. 22 with her next court appearance on Jan. 29.
