Preparing for the unforeseen disaster

William Bahrt, retired county emergency speaker, will present a free WOW! Working on Wellness Forum entitled “Preparing for the Unforeseen Disaster” at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave., in Sequim.

William Bahrt, retired county emergency speaker, will present a free WOW! Working on Wellness Forum entitled “Preparing for the Unforeseen Disaster” at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave., in Sequim.

Bahrt will discuss a variety of strategies to help prepare for unforeseen disasters, including the ABCs of disaster planning and “grab-and-go” kits to reduce potential property damage and injury.

A communications professor and emergency training analyst, Bahrt moved to Sequim from Richland in 1994 and began working with the Sequim Police Department to advocate a Block Watch program.
