Judy Willman returns to Sequim to share stories about her father, Joe Rantz, an Olympic Gold Medal winner, who with other members of the University of Washington team, won the 1936 rowing event.

On Saturday, Jan. 30 at 2:30, Willman will be at the Dungeness Schoolhouse, 2781 Towne Road, Sequim, to speak and sign books.

Seating is limited to 90 so early arrival is advised.

Donation of $5 is suggested to help pay off the new elevator in the schoolhouse.

Up against Hitler’s swastika-wearing athletes, the strong, thin men from the Northwest, gave it everything they had, to win the race. The event is a fundraiser for Sequim Museum & Arts, a presentation of personal views of the humble, bright, talented man that she knew so well. Willman’s husband Ray is in charge of the visuals.

Afterward, Willman will answer questions from the audience about her father or the writing of Daniel James Brown’s best-selling book, “The Boys in the Boat.”
