Reception set for school board directors

A reception is planned for Sequim School District directors Walter Johnson and John Bridge from 5:30-6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, in the board room. Both are retiring from the school board at the end of November.

A reception is planned for Sequim School District directors Walter Johnson and John Bridge from 5:30-6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, in the board room. Both are retiring from the school board at the end of November.

Johnson is a retired engineer from Michigan, where he served as a school board director for the Southfield Public School District for 24 years. He has served with the Sequim School District board since June 2005.

Bridge, a retired elementary teacher, has served on the Sequim School District board since 2009, when he was appointed by the board to take the place of director June Robinson after her death in May 2009. Bridge has served as board president and vice president.

The public is invited to stop in and pay tribute to these two individuals for their dedicated service to the Sequim School District. Light refreshments will be served and students from the Olympic Peninsula Academy will perform.
