Clallam County Fire District 3 reports that its staff responded to 223 calls from March 22-29.

Of note, crews responded to an automatically generated motor vehicle collision that did not exist. With the advancements in smartphone and watch technology, many devices now have built-in crash detection features, which can be life saving in certain situations. However, sometimes phones are left on moving vehicles and fall off onto the roadway or out of motorcycle pockets, generating a false alarm due to the speed of impact. CCFD3 staff recommend being aware of and managing these new features, and to always answer calls from dispatch if possible.
