Man reports assault, home invasion

Three masked men assaulted and robbed a 23-year-old Sequim man Monday night, leaving him bound with duct tape inside his home.
Shay Boyd told Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies three masked men forced their way into his residence, a fifth-wheel trailer, around 10:45 p.m. and assaulted him before binding him with duct tape, Sheriff’s Sgt. Randy Pieper said in a news release.
The suspects ransacked the residence looking for money and when they couldn’t find any they took a 22-inch Vizio TV, a stereo receiver and a DVD player before leaving on foot, Pieper said.
An hour later Boyd was able to free himself and make his way to a neighbor’s house to call the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies and a Sequim Police officer responded to the scene, off Kitchen-Dick Road, and were unable to find the suspects, Pieper said in the news release.
The investigation by the Clallam County Investigation Bureau continues.
