RV catches fire at rest stop

Sequim area firefighters quickly extinguished an RV fire in Blyn early Sunday evening, Oct. 8.

Battalion Chief Chris Turner with Clallam County Fire District 3 said 10 firefighters responded from two fire stations at 5:48 p.m. Oct. 8 to the 1000 block of Old Blyn Highway at the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe’s rest stop by Sequim Bay.

All occupants were outside and uninjured, Turner said, and the vehicle did not threaten other property.

The owner from Tacoma told firefighters he was alerted to the fire by a passerby as they were watching the salmon jump out in the bay, Turner said.

This fire is under investigation.
