Organizers of the second Sequim Public Safety Fair report that at least 1,000 people attended the event in and around the Guy Cole Event Center on Oct. 5.
Fifty public service agencies provided information on emergency preparedness, homesteading, public safety and more with various agency vehicles on site, including a Life Flight Network helicopter and other various first responder and heavy duty agency vehicles.
The fair is a collaboration between the City of Sequim, Clallam County Fire District 3 (FD3) and members of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program.
Organizers said it was “definitely a huge success” and participating agencies “are very interested in coming back next year.
“The Safety Fair certainly offers the public a chance to see and appreciate the extent of all the community service organizations that exist to make our town a great place to live, but it also serves the purpose of increasing inter-agency awareness and cooperation that, should a major emergency event take place, will help facilitate a collaborative and effective response to the urgent needs of the public they serve.”
