Scam alert: Phone calls from OMH may be fraudulent

The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office is warning citizens of a new scam involving a person claiming to be from Olympic Memorial Hospital trying to sell Lifeline subscriptions and new equipment.

These calls are not authorized by OMH or Home Health and are not legitimate.

Sheriff’s department officials advised citizens to never give out personal information over the phone, and that if you receive an unsolicited offer or request for your information over the phone, immediately hang up.

There are several recurring phone scams that occur throughout the year and hanging up on the caller is the safest and most effective way to prevent becoming a victim of these scams.
