Dozen Sequim
students make
honor roll at WSU
Twelve Sequim students recently were named to the WSU president’s honor roll.
They are Stacia Bibler, Rosalynd Billes, Kelli Daniels, Tricia Marie Duenas-Harris, Derrick Eberle, Lin He, Jaysa Hill, Valerye Huff, Danielle Knapman, Marielle Lopes, Jane Rynearson and Kori Winnop.
To be eligible for WSU’s president’s honor roll, an undergraduate student must earn a grade-point average of 3.75 in at least nine graded hours in a single term at the university or a GPA of 3.50 based on at least 15 cumulative hours of graded work.
Blenk named to
WWU honor roll
Jenny Blenk, a 2007 graduate of Sequim High School, recently was named to the president’s list at Western Washington University for winter quarter with a 4.00 grade-point average. It’s the second time Blenk has been named to the list.
Head Start accepting applications
Sequim Head Start programs are recruiting eligible children and families for the 2009-2010 school year.
Head Start is a federally funded program serving families with children up to age 5.
Three programs are available: a part-day, part-year preschool; a full-day, full-year preschool; and Early Head Start, a year-round program for pregnant women and/or children ages 0-3.
Full-day, full-year Head Start and Early Head Start program options are available in Port Angeles, Sequim and Port Hadlock.
Programs provide meals, education and social and health services to eligible children. Parent involvement is encouraged.
