Sequim Elks Lodge No. 2642 picked Sequim High School sophomores Audrey Shingleton and Sahara Stanton as recent Students of the Month. Both were selected for their high academic achievements as well as involvement in school activities.
Shingleton, Student of the Month for April, has a 4.0 grade-point average and is ASB class treasurer. She participates in the Be in Charge club, Interact club, Honor Society and FBLA. Her interests are business, writing and urban design. She participates in track and field, soccer and cross country running. Her future plans are to attend Cal-Polytechnic and then work in business for an athletic company. She is the daughter of Bridget and James Shingleton of Sequim.
Stanton, Student of the Month for May, has a 3.983 grade-point average and is involved in Honor Society and leadership groups. Her interests are music, American Sign Language, musicals, dancing and shopping. Her hobbies include art, singing and tennis; she’s also a member of the school tennis team. Her future plans are to attend college and become either a lawyer or an ASL teacher at a deaf school. She is the daughter of Shawn and Rebecca Stanton of Sequim.
