Jay Sierra, a local comic known for his quick wit and infectious smile, died on March 22.

The 36-year-old entered a Seattle hospital a year ago with pancreatitis and returned home last summer. A relapse of the condition put him into health trouble again.

He had suffered an episode with pancreatitis six years ago that landed him in the hospital for nine weeks.

Sierra was a popular figure on the local club circuit and performed comedy shows on the peninsula and in the Seattle and Tacoma areas. He participated regularly in community theater events as well.
