Sequim crowns its Homecoming king and queen

With streamers raining from the sky and bleachers filled with cheering fans, Sequim High School’s 2017 Homecoming court was crowned at halftime of the varsity football team’s 31-18 win over the Olympic Trojans.

High school students voted seniors Yussef Awawda and Kiara Pierson as this year’s king and queen. Pierson follows a family tradition where her brother Grant was crowned Homecoming king last year. Sydney Balkan was the 2016 queen.

Evan James and Abby Norman were voted prince and princess while fellow seniors Hayden Gresli and Eden Batson were named duke and duchess.
