Sequim High’s got talent!

A little singing, a little dancing, some rock & roll and a whole lot of talent.

A little singing, a little dancing, some rock & roll and a whole lot of talent.

Sequim High School students put on a show for classmates, friends and family at the 2010 Talent Show Friday and Saturday evenings.

Twenty-two students combined for 19 acts performing for both shows.

The big winner was the rock group Rocktagon. The quartet of Nick Bowden, Jason Kowitz, Isaac Powell and Sam Schwab took home top honors from judges the first night with their rendition of ZZ Top’s “La Grange.” A three-way tie for second place went to modern dancer Trey Baldwin, opera singers Stephanie Dunbar and Rachel Hughes, and tap dancer Nicole Masangkay. Third place went to singer Rachel Chumley for her rendition of “Don’t Rain on My Parade.”

Saturday night was Fan’s Choice night and Rocktagon once again took top honors. The Ackleys — students Dalton and Connor, plus dad Dennis, singing the bluegrass tune “Lighthouse Tale,” was second and Baldwin took home third.
