Sequim man arrested on child rape, drug charges

Steven T. Bright, 30, Sequim, was arrested Friday on 15 counts of third-degree child rape

Steven T. Bright, 30, Sequim, was arrested Friday on 15 counts of third-degree child rape, 54 counts of delivery of marijuana to a minor and 10 counts of delivery of a controlled substance to a minor.

Bright was arrested without incident after Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies and detectives searched his Old Blyn Highway residence.

The investigation began based upon reports Bright was having sex with a 14-year-old girl.

Detective John Hollis, a trained child forensic interviewer, confirmed the girl’s allegations and based upon that obtained a search warrant for Bright’s residence.

Third-degree child rape is a Class C felony. Delivery of marijuana to a minor and delivery of a controlled substance to a minor are Class A felonies.
