Washington State Patrol reports that a Sequim man collided with a tree on Friday night and was later transported to Harborview Medical Center.
Brian Rodgers, 61, of Sequim, was traveling west around 10:52 p.m. Oct. 4 on U.S. Highway 101 near Whitefeather Way when his 2010 Toyota Prius left the roadway and struck a tree, State Patrol reports.
Clallam County Fire District 3 staff the tree prevented Rodgers and the car from going down into the Johnson Creek ravine.
Rodgers, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was taken to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles and then taken to Harborview Medical Center where a center spokesperson said he is in serious condition in the intensive care unit (ICU) as of press deadline.
State Patrol reports Rodgers allegedly was driving under the influence of alcohol and while his license was suspended.
The vehicle was totaled.
