Sequim Police staff will continue essential services during the COVID-19 coronavirus public health issue, department officials said on March 19.
”Officers are on patrol and are responding to calls,” department officials said in a press release.
Those seeking police assistance are asked to call 9-1-1 in emergencies and 360-683-7227 in non-emergencies.
If an officer is responding to a home or place of business, department officials ask that callers meet the officer outside to protect the officer’s health and safety. Officers may be wearing protective equipment if there is a threat of COVID-19 contamination, they said.
The Sequim Civic Center — including the Sequim Police Department — is closed to the public; non-essential services are suspended until further notice.
