Get there early!

More than 3,000 football fans are expected to flock to Civic Field in Port Angeles tonight for the Wolves-Roughriders pigskin showdown.

The game starts at 7 p.m. but gates are opening at 5:30 p.m., so if you’re planning on going, it’s a good idea to get there well before the opening whistle.

Port Angeles comes into the game with a perfect record (6-0 in league, 8-0 overall) and No. 7 ranking in the most recent Associated Press 2A rankings.

Sequim’s Wolves are 6-0 in league and 7-1 overall and ranked No. 10 in the AP 2A poll.

The winner of this game wins the Olympic League championship and top seed heading into a crossover playoff game; the loser is the league’s No. 2 seed. Both teams will play on Saturday, Nov. 6, at North Kitsap High School in Poulsbo.

Their opponents? That’s a little tricky, with several teams from the South Puget Sound League tied or just one game out of first place.

For those who can’t make it, check out Sequim Gazette’s Facebook and Twitter accounts for live updates from the game.

We’ll also be shooting video tonight. Check back here for highlights of tonight’s game.
