Shelter Providers schedule forum

The Shelter Providers Network of Clallam County will present its Annual Forum on Ending Homelessness from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. March 18 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 Lopez Ave., Port Angeles.

The Shelter Providers Network of Clallam County will present its Annual Forum on Ending Homelessness from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. March 18 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 Lopez Ave., Port Angeles.

Keynote speaker will be Bill Block, project director of the Committee to End Homelessness in King County.

Greg Winter, director, Whatcom Homeless Service Center, will present "Prevent, Rapid Re-housing and Offender Re-entry."

Representatives and participants from youth outreach programs and panelists from DSHS/CPS/TANF, First Step Family Support Services will attend.

Peninsula Mental Health Children’s Services will discuss "Homeless Children and Youth: Painting the Picture of Need in Clallam County."

WorkSource, Peninsula College, Olympic Community Action Programs, United Way of Clallam County and economic development and business organizations will present "Help for Hard Times-Employment and Education."

Other reports will include:

_ "Clallam Ten-Year Plan to End Homelessness: Progress and Changes"

_ "2009 Point-In-Time-Homelessness Down 40 percent in Three Years"

_ Local spending and its outcomes for affordable housing and homeless funds and Hargrove sales tax funds for behavioral health services, including the first year of Family Therapeutic Court.
