SHS students discovering history, locally

Sequim High literature teacher Julie Romberg took her students to the Sequim Museum to see firsthand the local “Boys in the Boat” exhibit and 42-foot cedar racing shell made by famed boat-builder George Pocock.

To crown a school-wide read of “The Boys in the Boat” by Daniel James Brown about the 1936 Olympic Games Gold Medal winning rowing team from the University of Washington, including teammate Joe Rantz of Sequim, Sequim High literature teacher Julie Romberg took her students to the Sequim Museum to see firsthand the local “Boys in the Boat” exhibit and 42-foot cedar racing shell made by famed boat-builder George Pocock.
