Clallam County Fire District 2 paramedics responded early Friday morning to a single vehicle rollover accident near the intersection of Place Road and Highway 112.
The accident occurred at 8:14 a.m. when a female driver lost control of her mid-sized pickup truck. The truck left the roadway and flipped onto its side before coming to rest in the southbound lane of Place Road. Lower Elwha Tribal Police and Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies also responded to the accident.
Paramedics freed the trapped 47-year-old female from the pickup truck along with her three canine pets. The driver complained of minor injuries and was transported to Olympic Medical Center for further evaluation. The three canines were handed over to a family member who responded to the scene.
Place Road was temporarily closed while emergency workers extricated and treated the patient.
Firefighters remind drivers to slow down and drive with caution on wet and sometimes icy roadways and always wear your seatbelt.
Fire District 2 responded with a medic unit staffed with two, an engine company staffed with three volunteers and one command vehicle.
