UPDATE: As of 4 p.m. all PUD customers, with the exception of nine, have power.
Several inches of snow fell overnight across the peninsula, causing nearly all school districts to cancel classes today.
The Sequim, Port Angeles, Crescent and Neah Bay school district are closed today, as well as Peninsula College, Olympic Christian School, Queen of Angels School, Five Acre School, The Montessori Garden School and Children’s Montessori School.
Grand Openings for Columbia Bank in Sequim and Port Angeles today and tomorrow have been cancelled due to weather conditions.
The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office issued an advisory, notifying drivers of extreme winter driving conditions. If you must travel, carry an extra flashlight, food, water and blankets in case of an emergency, the advisory read.
County offices are anticipated to remain open as of 8:30 a.m. but Clallam County Superior Court jury duty is cancelled.
The winter storm is also causing power outages across the county, with 56 customers in the Hoko area, 79 in the Sol Duc area, and 278 customers south of Forks out of power at 8:45 a.m. Michael Howe, Clallam County Public Utility District executive communications coordinator, said PUD crews are out working to restore power.
The Clallam Bay PUD office is closed, Howe said.

Clallam County Superior Court 2:00 Truancy Court is canceled for today. Tomorrow Wednesday the 18th Juvenile Drug Court is canceled. Clallam County Teen Court is canceled for Wednesday.
Eastern Hills Community Church is canceling Youth Group and Awana Tuesday Night.
The Boys and Girls Club of the Olympic Peninsula in Sequim and Port Angeles is closed today.
Bingo at 7 Cedars Casino is canceled tonight.
All power outages are restored except for 13 customers in the Undie Road area south of Forks.
Readers Theater Plus program on Mountain Gorillas in Africa scheduled for tonight will be rescheduled for Friday Night, 7 p.m. at the Old Dungeness School House.
The North Olympic Libraries in Port Angeles and Sequim will be open today until 3 p.m. unless conditions get much worse.
Klahane Gymnastics canceled afternoon Pre-School and Recreational classes for Tuesday.
Olympic Laundry & Cleaners will be closed Wednesday including delivery trucks.
Open Mic Wednesday Night at The Buzz in Sequim is canceled.
7 Cedars Casino is closed today and will reopen as usual tomorrow. The Longhouse Market and Deli is open, but the deli is closed. The Cedars At Dungeness golf course is closed and Stymie’s Bar and Grill will be open until 1 p.m.
The National Weather Service predicts another one to two inches of snow accumulating this afternoon with significant accumulations expected tonight. Forecasters said another five to 10 inches of new snow is possible by Wednesday evening as the storm continues to move across Western Washington.
