Soroptimist International of Sequim announces it will be extending the deadline date of its annual Vocational Technical Award, due to the organization’s website being down and not operative, to Aug. 15.

The $2,000 award is given to a female of any age who is enrolled in a non-degree program leading to a certificate or license. Examples include, but are not limited to: EMT, firefighter, real estate, massage therapist, welder, computer tech, cosmetology, nursing, medical assistant and building trades. To be eligible for this award, applicants must reside in the Sequim School District or be a graduate from

Sequim High School. They must be enrolled in the program by the application deadline date. Application packets are online at www.sequimsi.org, go to “what-we-do” and then click on awards and scholarships.

Applications must be postmarked by Aug. 15.
