The Sound Community Foundation announces its recent Olympic Peninsula donation of $10,000 to the Sequim YMCA for future operation and maintenance.

President and CEO Laurie Stewart said, “The donation to the Sequim YMCA is not only important to the bank, but to me personally. A favorite memory is of my late husband, Ken Stewart, watching our nephews at swimming lessons year after year from benches near the pool windows.

“This donation not only ensures a future for a crucial community gathering place, but helps foster the health and wellness of our neighbors.”

A $3,000 donation from the Ken Stewart Park Fund at the Olympic View Community Foundation also was given to the Sequim YMCA.

The bank’s president and CEO, Laurie Stewart, is a Sequim native.
