‘Spooktacular’ race set

The Friends of Jefferson County Parks and Recreation is planning the second annual “Spooktacular” 5k and 1-mile run for Saturday, Oct. 29, at Troll Haven/Bandy Farms, 950 Gardiner Beach Road, Gardiner.

Registration is $25 for the 5k, $15 for the 1-mile race. Register online at www.jeffcofriends.com or on race day starting at 4 p.m.; the run starts at 6:30 p.m.

Runners are encouraged to wear glow lights, bring flash lights or headlamp. Race organizers will furnish some glow lights.

Prizes are awarded for best costumes at 6 p.m. The event includes food, music and more. Bandy Farms also will host a haunted house and other events.
