Salish Sea habitat in spotlight at Sequim anglers meeting
Bill Roberds, who calls himself an aquatic recreationalist, is the guest speaker at the Sept. 15 meeting of the Puget Sound Anglers. He will speak about the habitat available in the Salish Sea and the sea life that inhabits near shore waters.
The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave., Sequim.
Roberds has been a SCUBA diver and underwater video photographer for 12 years. He will share a film he developed on the underwater world of Ediz Hook that was used to inform the US Navy of critical habitat adjacent to its planned pier installation. In addition, he will show underwater footage of the Tongue Point wreck that wary fishers give a wide berth when fishing Freshwater Bay.
The evening begins with viewing the raffle prizes and fish stories. A short club business meeting begins at 7 p.m. with the speaker afterwards. The meeting also includes refreshments, raffle for fishing gear and $50 membership drawing (must be present to win).
