Statewide program helps residents get break on utility bills

Qualifying state residents can get help paying their utility bills, thanks to the statewide Clean Energy Credits for Washington Families Program.

The Washington State Department of Commerce is partnering with local utility entities to distribute funds to help low- and moderate-income households pay their electricity bills. The credit is applied directly to a customer’s utility bill.

The program offers $200 worth of bill credits per household to eligible residential customers through Sept. 15, 2024.

Clallam PUD residential customers can wacleanenergycredits.com to learn more and apply.

Customers need to supply their account number in the application.

Customers without internet access or those having difficulty with the application can call PUD’s customer service team at 360-452-9771 or 800-542-7859 for assistance, PUD representatives said.

Customers may also may receive a text message from the Washington State Department of Commerce and Promise — a software company specializing in relief distribution and revenue recovery for government — to apply. Promise works with state and local governments to distribute funds to utility customers for aid on their utility bills.
