Truck strikes home on Woodcock Road

Only minor injuries were reported in a Friday morning incident that saw a truck leave the roadway and strike a Sequim residence.

Deputies from the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office reported to a call at about 6:50 a.m. Friday, April 30, of a vehicle colliding with a home on the 1000 block of Woodcock Road.

Deputies arrived and found a heavily damaged grey Nissan Titan pickup resting against the backside of a residence. Deputies contacted the driver of the pickup, Devin Richardson, who had already extricated himself from the vehicle.

Richardson told deputies he’d fallen asleep while driving. Deputies found the pickup had drifted off of the roadway heading towards the ditch on the south side of Woodcock Road. Tracks led back across the road where the pickup struck a tree and spun the vehicle around before it rolled to a stop against the backside of the Sequim residence.

A female passenger suffered minor scrapes in the accident but no other people were injured, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies arrested Richardson for Driving While License Suspended-Third Degree and Fail to Transfer Title within 45 days. He was booked and released in the Clallam County Jail.

There was no evidence of impairment, sheriff’s office deputies reported.
