United Way recognizes volunteers, donors

United Way of Clallam County honors more than 100 volunteers and thousands of donors who helped with the 2009 campaignon Thursday, Feb. 25.

United Way of Clallam County honors more than 100 volunteers and thousands of donors who helped with the 2009 campaignon Thursday, Feb. 25.

A 5:30 p.m. social hour opens the evening, with dinner at 6:30 p.m. in the Juan de Fuca Room at the Port Angeles CrabHouse at Red Lion Hotel, 221 N. Lincoln St., Port Angeles. A Port Angeles High School string quartet provides social hour entertainment.

The dinner is open to campaign volunteers, donors, United Way partner agencies and their volunteers, and any other interested persons. 

This year’s goal is $1.1 million. Contributions received before March 31 will be included in the campaign’s total. 

While final figures won’t be announced until March 31, Jack and Pam Marshall, the 2009 campaign co-chairs, said the campaign has reached nearly $900,000.
