Local and Tribal law enforcement agencies in Clallam County have received a number of recent reports from local businesses receiving forged currency.

Local law enforcement officials have identified two persons suspected of being involved in an ongoing investigation into distribution of counterfeit $20 and $50 bills.

Because the investigation is open, law enforcement officials are not releasing their names.

Local and Tribal law enforcement agencies in Clallam County received a number of reports from local businesses receiving forged currency as of late. Currency quality varied, and occasionally a business received multiple bills with the same serial number; $10 and $20 bills were the most prevalent, though $50 bills are now surfacing.

On March 18, the Walmart store in Port Angeles received $400 in counterfeit $20 and $50 bills from a man and woman who were identified after the images above were released.
