Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County is offering a Survivors Workshops Series: Practical Advice to Living Alone.
This series will take place from 1:30-3 p.m. every fourth Thursday of the month, from June-September at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake in Sequim.
These survivors’ workshops will assist you with dealing with the common issues that are likely to arise as you now live alone and confront daily living after the loss of a loved one. Organized in several sessions, and focusing on specific aspects, there are guides and practical advice to help you with these new challenges. Join the workshops for informative and helpful sessions on the practical aspects of living alone. Come to one workshop or come to all.
Coming up on June 23, the focus will be Home and Car Maintenance with Michael Bucierka, a retired contractor. He’ll walk attendees through the Dos and Don’ts, the How-To’s and When to Call the Experts.
In July, it’s how to cook and shop for one; in August, attendees will a look at managing their finances alone, and the series ends in September with a well-deserved look at how to care for yourself living alone without a loved one.
The entire series is free to the public, but registration is necessary by calling VHOCC at 452-1511, as space is limited.
Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County, a nonprofit organization almost entirely staffed by volunteers, is continuously looking for people to deliver equipment, offer respite to caregivers, answer phones in the office and much more.
