Ann Soule has been involved with water in the Sequim-Dungeness area since she came here 24 years ago and has accumulated more than a few stories she’d like to share.

Soule brings here expertise of the geologic aspects of the area’s water quality and quantity as well as the human history of moving, shaping and trading water in, under and among local watersheds to the next Science Café, set for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Paradise Restaurant, Sequim.

Soule, who presents “Where Water Is Wealth … The Rest of the Story” at the event, is manager of the Stormwater Stewardship project with the City of Sequim, aimed at creating the city’s first master plan for stormwater in 2015.

The Science Café is a community service of the Sequim Education Foundation. Programs present expert speakers for adult and young adult audiences interested in current developments in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Events are held on the second Tuesday of the month at the Paradise Restaurant. Admission is free and food and beverages are available for purchase.

Upcoming Science Café events include Feb. 10, Robert Lynette, “Climate Change – What’s happening on the peninsula and what we can expect,” and March 10, Suzanne James King, “Power.”
