The North Olympic Peninsula Veteran Community Partnership is hosting a one-day conference for women veterans living in Clallam, Jefferson and Kitsap counties. The conference will be from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Friday, June 10, at the Fort Worden Commons Conference Center at 200 Battery Way, Port Townsend.
This first-time event of its kind on the Olympic Peninsula will provide a forum for women veterans to reach out to one another, network, explore resources and develop supportive relationships with other women veterans.
The program includes keynote speakers including veterans Alda Siebrands and Colleen McAleer. The presentations will focus on women’s needs, employment after service and meditative mindfulness. Lunch and on-site child care are included in this free event.
Participants are requested to register by June 6. Contact Rita Frangione at VetConnect 360-344-4940 or Barb Reuter at 206-277-4459 or email Barbara.Reuter@va.gov.
This event is made possible by co-sponsors VA Puget Sound Health Care System, Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs, the Veterans Health Administration, VetConnect and the Lower Elwha Klallam, Makah and Suquamish tribes.
