Youths gain essay honors for ‘What My Home Means to Me’
The winners are all third-grade students from Helen Haller and Greywolf Elementary schools who participated in the 35th annual essay and poster contest.
First-place essay winners won a bike/helmet and gift card, second-place essays won a razor scooter/helmet and gift card, third-place essays won a Scrabble Junior game and gift card and the poster winner from each school won an art case and gift card.
The winning students came from Ann Riggs and Emily Ellefson’s classes at Helen Haller and from Sheri Burke and Shannon Green’s classes at Greywolf.
The students all read their essays aloud and showed their posters to the Sequim Association of Realtors which sponsored this contest. Pictured with the students are the judges and prize sponsors for this event.
