Allen Ernest Henning went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, February 1, 2025, in Waterville, Washington. He was born July 7, 1935, in Auburn, Washington to Alvin E. and Mary Jane (Rogers) Henning. Allen grew up in a Christian home with 5 younger brothers. His faith was an anchor and source of peace even in his passing.
Allen married his high school sweetheart, Jacqueline Virginia Bremmeyer, on September 18, 1953, in Kent, WA. Early on Allen and Jackie lived in a number of different places in the PNW, but ultimately settled in Sequim, WA in 1973. Calling it home for more than 40 years. Once arriving in Sequim, Allen purchased Bee Electric which later became Allen Electric until he retired in 2015. He was honored to provide his electrical expertise to his community and use it as a way to serve his home church. Even helping build the current Sequim Assembly of God building (now known as Thrive Church).
Allen and Jackie were blessed with 4 children, Joy (Fred) Schlenz, Cindy (Randy) Barton, Carrie (Loyd) Smith, and Dale (Sue) Henning. He also had the joy of 13 grandchildren, and many great and great -great grandchildren.
Allen was loved by many and was known for his childlike love of life! Some of Allen’s favorite pastimes were camping, road trips, southern gospel music, and reading his Bible. And he never passed up an opportunity to play a game. But, he would say his proudest accomplishment was his 71-year marriage to the love of his life!
Allen is survived by his beloved wife Jackie, 5 brothers, 4 children, 14 grandchildren, and his many great and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and 2 grandsons.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Pioneer Memorial Park, 387 E. Washington St., Sequim, WA, Saturday, April 19 from 1-4 p.m.
