Anetta Jane Wood
July 17, 1925 – August 8, 2016
Mrs. Anetta Jane Wood, 91, of Sequim, WA went home to be with her Lord Jesus August 8, 2016 in the Olympic Medical Center.
She was born in Los Angles on July 17, 1925 to Henri Franklin Withington and Helen Mabel Delane Withington. After graduating from Glendale High
School in California Jane attended Bible Institute of Los Angeles (BIOLA).
She married Billy Joe Wood on August 5, 1942 in a simple ceremony in her parent’s home. Billy and Anetta celebrated their 70th Anniversary on August 5, 2016. She was a dedicated and faithful wife. Jane enjoyed reading, painting and sewing. She and Billy had four daughters to whom she was a wonderful mother.
Jane received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior as a teenager and served Him faithfully. She spent 27 years taking care of babies in the Church of the Open Door (Los Angeles) nursery. After moving to Sequim she sewed lots of bags for a Navajo mission and for the Awana Clubbers.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Joe Wood; daughters: Carol Jean Lewis and husband John of Well eet, Nebraska; Janet Lynn Wood of Sequim, Washington; Janice Lynette Padgett of Victoria, BC Canada; brother, David Allen Wight; 10 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Henri Withington and Helen Wight, her step father: Carlton Wight, brother, Laurence and his wife Esther; daughter, Linda Jane Lundeen, Grandson,Nathaniel Lundeen; great granddaughter Charise Mitchell.
A viewing is scheduled at Sequim Valley Chapel on September 2, from 2-4pm. Internment service is in Sequim View Cemetery September 3, at 11am. The memorial service is September 3, 1pm at Sequim Bible Church; Pastor Dave Witala officiating.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, gifts are sent to Samaritan’s Purse or that a Christmas shoe box is taken and filled for a child.
