Sequim resident Joseph Austin Sr. died May 14, 2014, in Sequim at the age of 79. There will be a memorial service for him at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at Dungeness Community Church, 45 Eberle Lane, Sequim.

He was born Aug. 15, 1934, to James and Mary (Tice) Austin. He is survived by his children Joe, Kimberly and Angela, and his longtime companion Marian Mandell.
