James “Jim” Diederichs
December 30, 1926 – December 7, 2016
James (Jim) Diederichs was born in Moorhead, Minnesota on December 30, 1926 to John and Theresa Diederichs. He passed away peacefully on December 7, 2016.
Jim is survived by his wife Joanne, whom he adored for 68 years, his daughters Sue Albright of Arlington and Polly Sirokman of Kirkland and his sons Steve of Kirkland and Dan of Port Ludlow and his 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was proud of his large family and his many friends and will be greatly missed by all.
He moved to Seattle in 1944 and graduated from O’Dea High School. He then enlisted into the Navy
and was preparing to fight in World War II when the war ended. Before and after the war he worked for
Pacific Northwest Bell and enjoyed a robust 39 year career before retiring.
He enjoyed trailer traveling with Joanne around the United States, fishing, woodworking, his computer and old western movies and sitcoms.
Jim and Joanne moved to Sequim in 1995 and lived there for 20 years. While there he volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and logged many hours on his riding lawnmower, taking great pride in his 2.5 acre property. They were members of St. Josephs Catholic Church. In 2015 they moved to Kirkland for health care reasons.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials can be donated to the American Heart Association.
