Dolores Cecilia Kutler

September 15, 1928 – May 20, 2022

Former Sequim resident Dolores Cecilia Kutler passed away peacefully on May 20, 2022 at her home in Madera, California. She was 93.

A Visitation was held on June 24, 2022 at 9:00-10:00 AM at Sequim Valley Chapel. A Recitation of the Rosary took place at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, followed by a Funeral Service. She was laid to rest at Sequim View Cemetery.

Dolores was born September 15, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois, to Dr. George and Frances (Zavesky) Slad. She married Joseph Raymond Kutler at Fort Sheridan, Illinois on November 15, 1952. In 1993, they moved to Sequim to retire and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and weather that the north Olympic Peninsula offers.

Dolores enjoyed playing Pinochle, dominoes, bingo and penny slots at the casino, as well as fishing for halibut with her husband and brother.

She spent time knitting sweaters, reading, and reciting the rosary for those in need of spiritual guidance.

Dolores liked watching Mother Angelica on EWTN Catholic TV and was an avid fan of the Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Mariners and Detroit Red Wings.

Dolores leaves behind her daughter Dolly West of Madera, CA; sons Kenneth (Sandy) of Oxford, MI and Keith Kutler of Los Angeles, CA; seven grandchildren, Greg West, James West, Kiara Brown-West, Jerad Kutler, Brad Kutler, Kyle Kutler and Kane Kutler and six great-grandchildren, Seylor, Evie, Josh, Cici, Mason and Addison.

She was preceded in death by both parents and her husband of 53 years, Joseph Raymond Kutler.

Marian Ota

June 18, 1944 – June 14, 2022

Marian Ota passed away June 14, 2022, in Wisconsin at the age of 77se. She was a lifelong resident of Fresno, CA. She is survived by her beloved brothers and sister, Richard (Charlotte) Boltz, Augustine “Lee” Boltz, and Janet (Mike) Holman. She was the loving mother of Darlene McCann, Robert McCann, Tamaye Ota and Ronald (Amy) Ota. She was the grandmother of Jessica Peterson, Brandon McCann, Erica Gasche, Nicole Janssen, Mason “Exit” McCann, and Michael Ota. She had 5 great-grandchildren: Blake, “Rickie”, Quinn, Harper, and Fallyn.

She was a devoted servant of Jesus Christ, and she sacrificed everything for her family and friends. Her family is comforted knowing that she is alive in heaven. In life, she enjoyed the outdoors – gardening and working in her yard, singing and praying for others, and studying her Bible. She will always be remembered for her abundant love and care for others. She was the most generous, selfless, hardworking person one could know.
