Gordon Lewis Bailey

January 22, 1934- February 20, 2024

Gordon Lewis Bailey died peacefully at Olympic Medical Center on Tuesday, February 20. He had just celebrated his 90th birthday on January 22.

Gordon was born in 1934 to Earl and Laurena (Josephine) Bailey in Boise, Idaho. He moved with his parents and brother Berkley to Tacoma, Washington in 1943 where he grew up. He attended Stadium High School, graduating in 1952. He was inducted into the army in 1953 and then attended Olympic Junior College, the College of Puget Sound and graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington in 1958.

He married Gail M. Kirkman in 1959 and they had two daughters, Laura Diane and Lisa Dawn. After Gail died in 1972, Gordon raised his daughters on his own.

He was employed by the Boeing Company in Seattle in 1959 as an industrial engineer, where he worked on many military and commercial aerospace programs in the Puget Sound area, including all the Boeing jets from the 727 to the 777. He retired from Boeing in 1992 after 33 years. His last position was as the long-range planning manager for the fabrication division in Auburn, Washington.

After his retirement, Gordon had a home built in Sequim and moved here from Renton in 1994. In 2002 he married Mary Ellen Hicks. For the next 16 years they divided their time between Sequim and Green Valley, Arizona. During that time, he volunteered as a docent at the Pima Air and Space Museum.

Gordon loved downhill skiing, dancing, landscaping, and his favorite hobby restoring a 1960 Corvette and a 1971 Datsun 240Z. He and Mary also took great pleasure traveling the world. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his great sense of humor and his big heart.

Gordon is survived by his wife Mary, his daughter Lisa Salmons, his son-in-law Jerrold Salmons and two granddaughters, Sabrina and Savanna Salmons. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Mary E. Lynch

Mary E. Lynch passed away on February 13th with family by her side.

Mary was born in Seattle but has been a long time resident of Sequim since marrying Milton Lynch at age of 18. She worked for the Sequim Gazette before finishing out a long career at the Sequim School District cafeteria.

She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, and son. She was survived by her three other sons, multiple grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be missed greatly.

A memorial service will be held for her at Peninsula Evangelical Friends Church in Agnew on March 16th at 2pm.

Charles Keith Leonard

Charles Keith Leonard of Port Angeles died of septic chock at Olympic Medical Center on March 2, 2024.

He was 75.

Leonard was born April 4, 1948.
