Nancy Merrigan
November 14, 1964 – February 10, 2024
Nancyne “Nancy” Lynae Merrigan was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She went home to be with the Lord on February 10, 2024 at age 59.
Nancy was born to Leonard Rex Roby and Helen Marie Stonehocker (Wright) in Ames, Iowa on November 14, 1964. She met the love of her life, Kevin Merrigan in 1980. The two of them were married on March 12, 1982 in front of the justice of the peace in Savannah, Missouri. After getting married, Nancy started Catechism classes to become a Catholic. On April 6, 1985 in Maryville, MO., Nancy and Kevin were married again at St. Gregory’s church where Nancy completed five of the seven sacraments (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Marriage, and First Confession) all in one day.
Nancy worked as an OB/Traveling nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Maryville, MO. Kevin & Nancy had 5 children before moving to Port Angeles, WA. in 2006. Here, she worked in hospitality before becoming the General Manger at the Quality Inn & Suites in Sequim. Nancy was also heavily involved with the Sequim Chamber of Commerce, serving as Membership Coordinator, Board Member and Chair of the Ambassador Team. She has won numerous awards for hospitality, including recognition by Governor Jay Inslee for Employee of the Year by the Washington Governor’s Committee on Disability Issues & Employment (March 2020).
Nancy is survived by her husband, Kevin Merrigan, her siblings Toni Green, Denise Chelmsford, Rick (Susan) Roby and Bill (Brenda) Roby, her children Kyisha (Padriac) Irwin, Christina (Thomas) Johnson, Ashley (David) Whitlock, Nicolas (Nicole) Merrigan & Tanner (Samantha) Merrigan as well as 17 grandchildren.
She is preceded by her mother and father, Helen and Rex, in-laws Rosalee and James Merrigan, and nephew Kyle James.
A Mass service will be held at 12pm on Wednesday, March 6th 2024 at Queen of Angels followed by Graveside service at Mount Angeles Cemetery.
Nadia Saulsbury
June 5, 1929 – February 24, 2024

Nadia (Shimer) Caldwell Saulsbury, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on February 24, 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 94. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania to Dr. William and Vera Shimer (Lozinsky), she grew up in Allentown, Pennsylvania. After completing secretarial studies at Moravian College for Women she worked briefly for General Motors Acceptance Corp. before being selected by the U.S. Department of State for an assignment in Buenos Aires, Argentina. There she met and married Max Ray Caldwell, a U.S. Foreign Service Officer also on his first posting, on March 13, 1953. She spent the next 20 years as a diplomat’s wife, living in Germany, Lebanon, Argentina, Panama, Ivory Coast, Venezuela, Philippines, and Bolivia; raising three loving children along the way.
In 1973 Nadia and Max retired to his hometown of Stillwater, Oklahoma. Nadia worked for First Gunn Financial Group in Stillwater until 1982, when she and Max moved to Sequim, Washington. Shortly after their move, Nadia visited Fairchild Travel in Sequim to book a trip and ended up working there for more than 10 years, specializing in tour groups to destinations around the world.
Max Caldwell died in 1994, after a long battle with lymphoma. Nadia was later blessed to meet a wonderful gentleman, Bernard K. (Keith) Saulsbury, whom she married on November 30, 1996. Keith’s family lovingly embraced her, richly adding his children and grandchildren to her life. Nadia and Keith enjoyed 8 happy years of marriage prior to his death in 2004.
An avid golfer and bridge player, Nadia continued to live at Sunland Golf & Country Club in Sequim, with frequent travel to visit family, until May 2023, when she moved to Tulsa to be closer to both of her daughters.
Although her time in Tulsa was brief, she enjoyed good health and time with family until her unexpected hospitalization on February 3, 2024.
Nadia was preceded in death by her husbands Max Caldwell and Keith Saulsbury, her sister Dorothy Fisher, and her niece Carolyn Leiby.
She is survived by her son Eric and wife Louise Caldwell; daughter Adair and husband Jay Johnson; daughter Alicia Todahl; stepson Larry and wife Karen McDonald; her grandchildren Laura and husband Charles Amadon; Kevin and wife Lauren Johnson; David and wife Andrea Caldwell; and Keith Johnson, and her great-grandchildren Henry, Theodore and Willa Amadon; Lincoln and Elizabeth Johnson; as well as Larry and Karen’s children Michele, Patrick, and grandchildren Katie, Henry, Andy, Claire and Jack. She is also survived by her niece Christina and husband Joe Lehnert; their children Vicki and husband Dan Potter, Joanna and husband Thomas Maguire; grandchildren Brooklyn and Hudson Potter and Margot Maguire; nephew Martin Leiby and his children Richard Leiby and Melissa and husband Matthew LaBuda; and grandchildren Marshall and Morgan LaBuda, and Dylan and Keira Leiby; and nephew Chistopher Fisher and his daughter Adair and husband Eric Gross.
A memorial celebration will be held in Sequim, Washington in the coming months. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clarehouse Tulsa, 7617 Mingo Rd, Tulsa, OK 74133.
Carol Jean Scott Prokasky
January 21, 1941 – February 24, 2024

Carol Jean Scott was born on January 21, 1941 in the very small town of Milroy, Minnesota to Clifford and Neva (Jensen) Scott. She was the third child in a family of six children. Carol went to grade school and high school graduating in May of 1959.
On October 17, 1959 she married Richard Vernon Prokasky, her high school sweetheart and love of her life. They shared fifty-six loving years and were blessed with three wonderful children:
Todd Richard Prokasky; granddaughter, Vanessa Joy Mack Naranjo; great grandchildren, Kayden James Stewart, Jeremy Baine Mack, Zadok Miguel Naranjo.
Curt Alan Prokasky (Lea Ann); grandson, James Curt Prokasky (Brenna); great grandchildren, Coleman James Prokasky, Bronwyn Diane Prokasky; granddaughter, Kelsey Michelle Mann; grandson, Jarrin Prokasky.
Brian Scott Prokasky (Alicia); grandson, Brycen Scott Prokasky; granddaughter, Sylvie Anne Prokasky.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Neva Scott, three brothers (Kenneth, Gordon, and Gilbert Scott) and one sister (Mildred Mae Trost). Her beloved husband, Richard, passed to eternity on October 12, 2015.
Carol Jean loved cooking, gardening, sewing, spending time with friends, visiting local lavender fields’ festivals, and attending the local Sequim theater. She was an accomplished home baker and was known for her delicious gingersnaps, cinnamon rolls, pecan pie, and dinner rolls. Carol was very proud of her Norwegian heritage and shared her heritage with others by making krumkake and lefse. She was a member of Sons of Norway Olympic Lodge #37. Carol was also known for her passion with the color purple and was nicknamed Purple Carol and “the purple lady” by many.

The Lord our Savior was number one throughout Carol’s life. She was a member of the Port Angeles United Methodist Church until she moved to Sequim where she enjoyed attending the Sequim Community Church.
Carol is survived by her sister Mavis Jerzak (St. Cloud, Minnesota), her three sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many lifelong friends.
Sassy, thank you for all the love, support, memories, and the joy you brought to each of our lives. God be with you, until we meet again.

Doris Lenore Greer
Doris Lenore Greer of Sequim died of age-related causes at her home on Feb. 28, 2024.
She was 85.
Greer was born Oct. 21, 1938.
There is no funeral scheduled at her request.

Larry Anthony Hahn
Larry Anthony Hahn of Port Angeles died of age-related causes at Sequim Health & Rehab on Feb. 26, 2024. He was 82. Hahn was born Feb. 1, 1942.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, at Bethany Pentecostal Church in Port Angeles.
Inurnment with be at Ocean View Cemetery with officiant Rev. Omer Vigoren.

Arliss June Frederick
Arliss June Frederick of Port Angeles died of age-related causes at her residence on Feb. 26, 2024. She was 93. Frederick was born June 18, 1930.
