Captain Mary ‘Margaret’ Preston

Captain Mary Margaret Preston (U.S. Public Health Service) passed on April 6th, in Snowflake, Arizona.
Captain Preston graduated from Arizona State University in 1977, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, and began her career with the U.S. Public Health Service, including stints as Director of Nursing for the Indian Health Service and the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
After moving to Sequim, she helped to establish and worked at the Olympic Peninsula Community Clinic, served as Board President and Board Member at the Dungeness Valley Health Clinic, and helped in the creation of the Sequim Dog Park.
Margaret is survived by her three daughters, Sarah Franklin, Tracey Heller, Lisa Preston, and her granddaughter Delaney Johanson.
A memorial service will be announced in the summer.
